At the launch there are four engines, two petrol and two Diesel. The gasoline is 1.6 liters of displacement. The less powerful 102 hp power is, the other has direct injection and provides 116 hp. Diesel is in a 1.9 l TDI of 105 hp and the 2.0 l TDI 140 hp. These can be optionally automatic DSG gearbox.

In normal driving reactions there is no difference between a touch or a Golf and Volkswagen Jetta. For interior space inside the Volkswagen Jetta is usual for a sedan of its size, unless it is narrow in the rear seat (so it is not suitable for carrying three adults in these places).

The range consists of two equipment levels: "Trendline" and "Advance." The Volkswagen Jetta all have serial dual zone climate control, six airbags, four electric windows, stability control (ESP) and CD player with ten speakers. Version 'Advance' is the most equipped, among other things, has alloy wheels, sport suspension and trip computer.

Drawing on the Volkswagen Jetta TDI with 1.9 liters engine of 105 hp, it is considerably more expensive (a equal equipment) that cars like the Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi 109 hp 4p or 4p Opel Vectra 1.9 CDTI. However, it is less expensive than a Volvo S40 1.6D.

The Volkswagen Jetta is 182 mm longer than the Bora, its length grows to 4558 mm. It is greater than a 3 Series BMW or a Mercedes-Benz Class C. Other four-door models with a length similar to the Volkswagen Jetta is the Nissan Primera (4,567 mm) and the Volvo S40 (4576 mm).

The width of the Volkswagen Jetta is a Golf (1,759 mm), the height is slightly lower (1,461 mm), normal for a sedan of this type. The wheelbase is also the Golf (2,578 mm), for its short length, there is no saloon between 4.5 and 4.6 m in length, and there are several which have 2 7. This is a feature of the Volkswagen group's cars are motor cross (the Volkswagen Jetta) or longitudinal.

The measure that most distinguishes the Volkswagen Jetta trunk is the volume: 527 l. It is a very good, especially given that the Volkswagen Jetta has a spare wheel of new measures. With this volume, the Volkswagen Jetta is the car boot with all four doors between 4.4 and 4.8 m, where the normal is about 450 l (a Ford Focus sedan has 526 l).

The trunk can be expanded because of series; the rear backrest is hinged and is divided into two, with proportions 60/40. The Volkswagen Jetta line has some distinctive features of the latest Volkswagen models such as the chrome molding on the front in the form of "V" (which has the Passat and the Golf GTI) and the taillights diodes.

Retrieves the name Volkswagen Jetta, which used the four-door version of the Golf II (corresponding to the four-door Golf III Vento was, and for the Golf IV was the Bora), mainly by the success of this model in the U.S. (where all issues have been called Jetta). The Volkswagen Jetta is produced in the plant in Puebla (Mexico).

One of the most interesting qualities is its Volkswagen Jetta amount of luggage. It is equipped with four rings of attachment, an elastic strap on one side and two on the edge of the base to secure the payload triangles signaling. The trunk lid opens completely to actuate a button on the remote. The hole it leaves the door open to load objects is correct compared to other four-door car.

It is good interior space for four adults, but it is clearly close to five. The ceiling height in the rear seats can be fair if these places are high and people seated are sufficient for people of normal height. Golf is a more spacious in this measurement (the rest is equal in both the front seats and rear).
